Fenerbahçe has won the first match against HJK Helsinki in the last qualifying round of the Conference League. In Istanbul, coach Vitor Pereira’s team won 1-0 against the reigning champion of Finland. Ferdi Kadioglu made his entrance as a substitute and provided the assist on the winning goal.

The only goal of the game came after 64 minutes from Muhammed Gümüskaya. Fenerbahçe took over after a throw-in from HJK and eventually Gümüskaya gave himself space for a hard, diagonal shot with the left leg. His powder was too powerful for goalkeeper Jakob Tannander and flew in through the bottom of the crossbar. The assist came from Ferdi Kadioglu.

After his goal, his first in the service of Fenerbahçe, Gümüskaya wanted to kiss the club logo. However, he realized too late that the logo is not on the chest; Fenerbahçe played in a third kit presented by Puma on Wednesday. Like nine other clubs that partner with Puma, including PSV, Fenerbahçe has a third kit with the club name written out and the logo not on the chest.
