Real Sociedad did good business in LaLiga on Tuesday evening. The number four of LaLiga visited number five Real Betis, which would have come three points from Sociedad with a victory. However, Imanol Alguacil’s team managed to pull out a 0-0 draw in Andalusia, which means that the gap of six points is maintained. For Betis, the first Champions League participation since 2006 seems to have to be postponed for at least another season. Sociedad, last active in the billion dollar ball in 2014, has the best credentials for fourth place. However, Villarreal, which still has a game credit, can come to five points from Sociedad if it wins.

Particularities
Betis, with Andrés Guardado in the base, almost took the lead after half an hour of play. Aitor Ruibal sent his shot towards the top corner, where Álex Remiro was just in time to prevent a hit. Just before the break, Sergio Canales tried with a shot that flew just wide of the post. Sociedad did not seem to want to take a hit against and to want to hit the counter. Betis had to make the game, but Manuel Pellegrini’s team lacked conviction. Ayoze Pérez and Canales came close with their shots in the second company, but the team from Seville was far from convincing. Mikel Merino had a good chance to steal the victory on behalf of Sociedad, but his shot was saved by Rui Silva in minute 95: 0-0.
