Granada and Las Palmas can be admired again in LaLiga from next season. Granada won 2-0 at home against Leganés, while Las Palmas needed a 0-0 draw against Alavés. Granada thus returns to the highest level as champion after three years. Las Palmas was last active in LaLiga five years ago. Four teams compete through the play-offs for the last promotion ticket.

Tension has been running high in the last few weeks at the second Spanish level. Several teams had a chance of promotion and until the last day of play, not a single PhD student was known. Saturday was the last round on the program and so decisions had to be made. As the front runner, Granada was the favorite to be allowed to report to LaLiga next season and did not fail against Leganés. Goals from Myrto Uzuni just before the break and Bryan Zaragoza after the break ensured that the folk festival in the city could erupt.

Las Palmas was a little less prosperous before the start of the last round. The islanders took on fourth-placed Alavés, which was only one point behind Las Palmas. After ninety nerve-racking minutes, the home team managed to keep a clean sheet and condemn Alavés to the play-offs. Levante, which won 2-1 against Real Oviedo, is tied with Las Palmas in points. However, the latter team has the advantage of the better mutual result.

In addition to Levante and Alavés, Eibar and Albacete also participate in the play-offs, although those teams had been assured of this for some time. The difference between number two Las Palmas and number five Eibar is only one point at the end of the ride. Albacete, which is the last team to report for the play-offs as number six, finishes just five points behind Las Palmas. Thus, Levante, Alavés, Eibar and Albacete will decide in the play-offs which club grabs the last promotion ticket.
