Young Ajax has found a connection with the top of the Kitchen Champion Division on Monday evening. Jay Gorter saved a penalty for the second time in a row and helped the Amsterdam reserves on their way to a 2-1 win against Roda JC Kerkrade. FC Volendam had a hard time winning against Jong FC Utrecht (1-0) and thus retains the lead. Number three FC Emmen suffered expensive damage against Jong AZ (0-0), while NAC Breda and Jong PSV also failed to score (0-0).

Young Ajax – Roda JC Kerkrade 2-1
The visitors often sought the attack on De Toekomst in the first half hour. However, Jong Ajax goalkeeper Jay Gorter was not really tested. The first major danger came from the home team: in the 36th minute Naci Ünüvar shot Rody de Boer’s fists twice. Roda then took the lead again, but against the ratio Jong Ajax took the lead. Anass Salah-Edinne defeated De Boer to score his first league goal of the season.

Twenty minutes before the end, the Limburgers made the deserved equalizer. Robert Klaasen beautifully shot a free kick on the edge of the sixteen-meter area into the intersection. Eight minutes later, Roda even had the opportunity to take the lead. Dylan Vente was allowed to aim for a penalty, but Gorter took the ball. Just before time, the visitors even got the lid on their noses. Sixteen-year-old substitute Amourricho van Axel-Dongen proved his worth and put the 2-1 on the scoreboard.

Young FC Utrecht – FC Volendam 0-1
The team from Volendam could only lead again, as Excelsior had tied the score against Helmond Sport (1-5 win) on Friday. However, the home team started the game strongly. In the 20th minute, goalkeeper Filip Stankovic had to stretch on a good effort by Rayan El Azrak. FC Volendam came closest via Boy Deul, who saw his swipe being tapped out of the goal by Fabian de Keijzer. In the second half there was a lot more to experience at Sportcomplex Zoulenbalch. Volendam started and got opportunities through Robert Mühren, Martijn Kaars and Brian Plat. For a long time, the leader seemed to lead the third point loss in a row, until Achraf Douiri changed that. Daryl van Mieghem delivered a flawless pass and the winger scored his first league goal for FC Volendam.

Young AZ – FC Emmen 0-0
In the fairly balanced match at the AFAS Training Complex, Emmen had the best chances in the first half. Early in the game, Jeredy Hilterman encountered Beau Reus one-on-one, who also saved a moment later on a threatening shot from Rui Mendes. After the break, Jong AZ became really dangerous for the first time. The Alkmaarders had three huge chances in a row. Yusuf Barasi shot at goalkeeper Michael Brouwer’s leg, Peer Koopmeiners hit the crossbar in the rebound and then Brouwer tapped a bet by Mohamed Taabouni wide. Emmen still had enormous opportunities to win in the absolute final phase. The best was for Teun Bijleveld, who shot at Reus after passing Reda Kharchouch.

Young PSV – NAC Breda 0-0
Dante Sealey cut into the penalty area on behalf of Jong PSV in the opening game, but the shot from the wing striker missed direction. Then Kaj de Rooij saw a shot being blocked on the other side. The NAC attacker seemed to give teammate Ezechiel Banzuzi the opening goal moments later, but he was just unable to tap the cross in. Shortly after the break, Jong PSV was close, were it not for Danny Bakker who took the ball off the line. After that, Sealy was unable to finish the one-on-one with Nick Olij, after which NAC took over the initiative. De Rooij hit the crossbar twice, first from an apparent cross and then with a line. Both teams remained without a goal and NAC is unable to get closer to the play-off spots. The team from Breda is disappointingly twelfth, one place above Jong PSV.
