For Espanyol, the adventure in LaLiga is over for the time being. The club from Barcelona seemed to be on its way to a crucial victory at Valencia, but was disappointed when Samuel Lino signed for the 2-2 final score deep in stoppage time. Espanyol now has four points less than number seventeen Celta de Vigo, so relegation is a fact. Number eighteen Real Valladolid is now on 39 points, followed by Celta de Vigo (40), Almería (40), Valencia (41) and Getafe (41).

Particularities
Valencia, with Justin Kluivert in the base, took the lead just before the break. Diego López got the ball in front of his feet from a rebound and hit: 1-0. The revelry at loose Che however, was short-lived. Cesar Montes was reached and headed in nicely: 1-1. Shortly after the break, Martin Braithwaite showed up. The Dane hit from a rebound: 1-2. Montes was twice close to a goal in the sequel. First of all, he encountered Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and moments later the Mexican’s goal was due to a foul in the run-up to his goal. In stoppage time, Valencia plunged Espanyol into mourning. Lino got too much space and finished with a right in the top left corner: 2-2.

The state of affairs
Elche and Espanyol are the first to be relegated, but otherwise very little is clear. Getafe was the only team from the list of possible relegators who did excellent business by winning against Osasuna. However, the club awaits a confrontation with Valladolid in the last round, which must win. Celta did very bad business by losing to Cádiz, which is now jumping over Celta. Mutual results are leading in Spain at the end of the day.
