Joris Kramer will play for Go Ahead Eagles next season. The 24-year-old defender extends his contract with AZ until the summer of 2023 and is rented to the brand new Eredivisionist from Deventer. The left-footed central defender has to compete with Justin Bakker.

Kramer has been through the AZ youth academy since the Under-14s. In the Alkmaar main force, the defender has played one official game so far. On August 18, 2019, he made his debut against FC Groningen.

Last season, Kramer was rented to SC Cambuur, with which he won the championship in the Kitchen Champion Division. The defender came to 22 league matches, although he mostly participated as a substitute. He has already played more than a hundred matches in the Eerste Divisie.

“I was actually quite impressed with the way Go Ahead Eagles played last season,” says Kramer. “The organization within the team was good and the players knew exactly what to expect from each other in the field. There was a clear plan, nice to see. In that regard, Cambuur had three games very difficult against Go Ahead Eagles last season. Ultimately it worked out well for both clubs due to the promotion to the Eredivisie. ”

Kramer is now the fourth addition to the new season at Go Ahead Eagles. Previously Isac Lidberg (Gefle IF), Ragnar Oratmangoen (SC Cambuur) and Philippe Rommens (TOP Oss) were already attracted by the Deventer Eredivisionist. With Oratmangoen and Kramer, the club is taking two champions from the Kitchen Champion Division to the Eredivisie.
