The table gentlemen Veronica Inside watched with amazement the performance of Ajax when it visited SC Heerenveen (3-2) on Sunday afternoon. The team from Amsterdam seemed to make a poor figure especially defensively. René van der Gijp was not at all impressed by Borna Sosa in particular.

“If you are looking at Ajax…”, the former professional begins. “Then you have a midfielder from Heerenveen who is being played to. Then the three midfielders from Ajax go towards him.”

“So they are not there yet!”, says Gibe expresses his surprise emphatically. “That means that there are two vacant ones (van Heerenveen, ed.). I'm looking at something and I think: that's impossible.

“If Heerenveen played in that (Thom, ed.) Haye, then there was no one around him in a circle of twenty meters. They were somewhere else.”

“And then that left back (Sosa, ed.)…”, Van der Gijp continues. “He walks around like he doesn't feel like it at all, man. It's really hard to handle cowlicking.”

The former right winger did not know what he saw on Sunday and made this clear on the talk show. “Sosa really looks like he wants to say: 'What am I doing here?'”

The Croatian left back had a starting spot for Ajax for the eleventh time in Friesland. In recent months, John van 't Schip often preferred the young Ar'Jany Martha, but he had to settle for a place on the reserve bench on Sunday due to poorer form.
