Galatasaray again failed to win in the Süper Lig on Sunday. Just like two weeks ago at Kasimpasa (2-2), the team of trainer Fatih Terim lost a 0-2 lead against Trabzonspor, which eventually forced a draw: 2-2. Due to the draw, the Turkish league now has four shared leaders with ten points: Fenerbahçe, defending champion Besiktas, Trabzonspor and Konyaspor. Galatasaray follows with eight points.

Galatasaray received the opening goal after nineteen minutes. Edgar Ié played the ball back to his goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakir without looking, but Emre Kilinç saw through that and, after a good run, he shot the ball low under the keeper: 0-1. After half an hour of play, he also took the second goal. Trabzonspor’s defense did not look good again with an attack by Galatasaray and it was ultimately Kilinc who fired the ball against the ropes on the pass of Halil Dervisoglu at the height of the penalty spot.

Trabzonspor came back to 1-2 just before half-time: after a long ball from the left, Anastasios Bakasetas headed the ball through to Andreas Cornelius, who was not offside and worked the ball from close range behind Fernando Muslera. The defense of Galatasaray was not good when the home team came 2-2 after more than an hour of play. The detached Marek Hamsik kept four opponents busy on the left side of the penalty area, after which he kept the overview and eventually the also detached Anthony Nwakaeme pushed the ball hard into the goal.

Patrick van Aanholt was the only Dutchman who appeared in the base. The defender played ninety minutes. Ryan Babel came in for Olimpiu Morutan after the break and Stefano Denswil made his appearance for the home side after 54 minutes. Galatasaray will play Lazio in the Europa League next Thursday and will face Alanyaspor three days later.
