David Jensen did himself a disservice on Sunday. The former goalkeeper of FC Utrecht, who is currently under contract with the Belgian Westerlo, made a terrible mistake in the home game against Royal Mouscron (4-3 win). Jensen received the ball back from a teammate, but then worked the ball into his own goal to his own surprise and frustration.

The duel with Mouscron was only ten minutes old when the unfortunate moment occurred. Jensen received the ball from left back Kouya Mabea. In an attempt to shoot the ball away, however, the former FC Utrecht goalkeeper hit the ball completely wrong, after which it rolled over his own goal line. Halfway through the first half, the lead was doubled by the visitors, after which Westerlo straightened out after the break.

Jensen started his first foreign adventure at Utrecht in the summer of 2016, after having played for FC Nordsjaelland in his native Denmark, among others. Jensen was undisputed at Utrecht for a long time, but was surpassed by Maarten Paes in the summer of 2019. In total, the Danish goalie played 112 official matches for Utrecht. Only six goalkeepers were under the bar in more official matches for the Domstedelingen. Jensen left for the American New York Red Bulls last summer and will be leased to Westerlo this season.
