Jesús Corona is an official player of Sevilla. The 29-year-old winger comes over from FC Porto and has committed himself to the Andalusians until 2025, his new club reports on its own channels. FC Twente, for which Corona played between 2013 and 2015, can expect a nice amount in the bank account due to the transfer. The club from Enschede stipulated according to TC Tubantia a nine percent resale rate upon his transfer to Porto in 2015.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Sevilla will pay ‘only’ three million for Corona, whose departure from Lisbon has already been in the corridors for several transfer periods. The Mexican’s contract, however, only ran for six months, so that he could be picked up this winter for a relatively modest amount. With a transfer fee of three million euros, Twente will earn about 270,000 euros as a result of the deal from 2015. FC Twente watcher Leon ten Voorde van TC Tubantia speaks of an amount ‘between two and three million euros’.

Corona came from CF Monterrey to Enschede in the summer of 2013 and had a relatively difficult start in the Grolsch Veste. The attacker mainly had to make do with substitutions and scored two goals in fifteen Eredivisie games. However, the 2014/15 season marked the turning point for El Tecatito. With 9 goals in 27 matches, Corona withdrew from the sporting malaise that prevailed at Twente at that time. The Tukkers sold their star player for an amount of 10.5 million euros to Porto, where he quickly became a permanent fixture.

In his debut season in the Liga NOS, Corona scored 8 goals in 28 goals. After two years of being able to present comparable figures, he reached his peak in the 2019/20 season. With 21 assists, 14 of which were in the league, Corona was voted Portugal Player of the Year. The 63-time international (10 goals) eventually won the national title twice (in 2017/18 and 2019/20), once the cup (in 2019) and twice the Super Cup (in 2019 and 2021).
