Cristiano Ronaldo is proud to be wearing the Manchester United uniform again. The 36-year-old attacker officially returned on Saturday after 12 years, scoring two goals in a 4-1 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford. “My return to Old Trafford quickly reminded me of why this stadium is known as the Theater of Dreams. For me it has always been a magical place where you can achieve anything you want,” Ronaldo emphasizes on Instagram.

The publication of Ronaldo, who took care of the 1-0 and the 2-1, has collected eight million likes in more than an hour at the time of writing. “Together with my teammates and with the great support we always get from the stands, we will face the future with confidence and optimism and in the end we will be victorious. I am proud to be back at Manchester United and to play in the Premier League, but above all I want to help the team.”

“The expectations were very high today, but we have achieved them together. When you see that the fans are happy, I can really enjoy it. Manchester United is a club where you have to deliver every game. That has not changed,” said manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in conversation with Sky Sports on the arrival of Ronaldo. “He has developed into a fantastic goalscorer. Cristiano now also played a good game. He quickly took up his role with us.”

“He went along with our game and had a good connection with his teammates,” Solskjaer continued. “When you see how happy the fans are, you enjoy it. There were a lot of expectations and they all came true.” Bruno Fernandes, who took care of the 3-1 himself, also enjoyed his compatriot. “Everyone knows what Ronaldo has done for the club. We are very happy with him. Can we play well together? Good players can always do that.”
