Feyenoord is again fined by UEFA. The ‘UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary body’ has imposed a fine of 16,000 euros on the club, Feyenoord announced on Thursday. The fine is issued in response to events surrounding last Thursday’s home match against FC Drita.

Feyenoord will be fined for blocking stairs by supporters in De Kuip during the return in the second preliminary round of the Conference League, the club reports. It is certainly not the first UEFA fine for Feyenoord in recent years. In April 2020, the club received three different fines for various disturbances in Europa League matches with Rangers FC (blocking stairs and setting off fireworks) and FC Porto (destruction in the stadium of Porto), for which more than 30,000 euros had to be paid.

Earlier in the 2019/20 season, the club was fined 36,000 euros for blocking stairs and setting off fireworks during the duel with Young Boys. Feyenoord won the game against Drita last Thursday 3-2, which means that it can try to qualify for the play-offs for the group stage of the European tournament in a diptych against FC Luzern. The first meeting with Lucerne awaits in Switzerland on Thursday evening.
