Feyenoord will report for Marcilio Florencio Mota Filho, or Nino for short, reports 1908.nl Monday afternoon. The 26-year-old defender, who has only played in Brazil so far, is under contract with Fluminense until December 2024. Nino must be regarded in South Rotterdam as the replacement for Lutsharel Geertruida, who seems to be leaving for RB Leipzig in the short term. According to Transfer market the Brazilian center back is worth around 7 million euros, making him a viable target for Feyenoord.

Nino is currently captain of Fluminense, where he has been under contract since February 2019. At the time, the current number three of the Brazilian Série A paid 1 million euros to take over the right leg from Criciúma Esporte Clube. Nino now stands at 217 games for Fluminense, in which he scored 12 goals and 4 assists. The 1.88 m tall Nino is Brazil’s youth international, but has never played for the country’s main squad.

In De Kuip, Nino has to make audience favorite Geertruida forget. The Rotterdam defender hopes to complete his record transfer to Leipzig in the short term. According to journalist Martijn Krabbendam van Football International Feyenoord is approaching an agreement with the Germans on a fixed transfer fee of 30 million euros, an amount that can increase by about 2.5 million euros through bonuses. Geertruida is still fixed in his hometown until mid-2025, but will not serve that contract.
