Feyenoord has finally received Ondrej Lingr, the club announced on the official channels. The 24-year-old Czech comes over from Slavia Prague and is initially rented. The transfer will become permanent next year through a mandatory purchase option. In Rotterdam, Lingr must succeed Sebastian Szymanski in the number 10 position.

That place in midfield was still a problem child in Arne Slot’s team. At the beginning of the season, this role was filled by Calvin Stengs and Quinten Timber, but both were not yet convincing. This problem seems to be solved with the signing of Lingr, who is known as a talented attacking midfielder. The right leg can also operate on both flanks.

Feyenoord will rent Lingr with a mandatory option to buy, so that the transfer will not be final until next season. Then the people of Rotterdam transfer at least three million euros. The six-time international has been playing for Slavia since the summer of 2020, which took over from the Czech Karvina at the time. The midfielder went through the youth academy there. On behalf of Slavia, Lingr came to 138 official duels, in which he managed to find the net 40 times and was the declarant 11 times.

This season, Lingr has so far played four times for his now former employer. He scored one goal and one assist in those games. The goal was an important one in the preliminary rounds of the Europa League against Ukraine’s FK Dnipro. Since that same game on August 10, Lingr has not played on behalf of Slavia due to an injury. It is unknown when the Czech will be fit enough to make his debut for Feyenoord.
