Feyenoord supporters have ensured through crowdfunding that Argentine supporter Ignacio Ostertag can be present in De Kuip on December 19 at the Eredivisie match against Ajax. Ostertag, a lawyer by profession and also a football commentator, has been a supporter of the Rotterdammers for more than twenty years, but has never been able to visit the club due to financial reasons.

The target amount of two thousand euros was achieved within a day. At the time of writing, the counter stands at 2680 euros. “I can’t sleep, eventually my dream will come true,” the Feyenoord fan says in conversation with the General Newspaper. Ostertag has nothing to do with the Argentine clubs such as River Plate, Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo. “These clubs don’t interest me. I’m Feyenoord!” He calls himself on social media El Bombastico and he gives exuberant comments in Spanish during matches of Arne Slot’s team.

Ostertag previously told ESPN where his love for Feyenoord came from. “Usually it was difficult here to pay for TV channels, but due to a temporary promotion we got a few channels for free,” he said. The Argentinian was zapping and his attention was caught by an Eredivisie match, Feyenoord against FC Groningen. “I saw all those supporters there, De Kuip and that one player… József Kiprich. What a player! That was my immediate idol. That’s how I got to know Feyenoord.”

Ostertag is delighted to see Feyenoord at work against arch-rival Ajax. “I’m a lawyer, but I can’t afford it. I work for poor people. But I know what the match against Ajax means. I’m so glad I can come. I have no words for it!” Money that Feyenoord supporters deposit above the target amount goes to Support Casper, the foundation of doctor Casper van Eijck for research against pancreatic cancer.
