Fifteen Feyenoord supporters have been banned from stadiums for threatening and intimidating supporters of a new stadium, reports RTV Rijnmond Wednesday. The group visited a number of people on Saturday 5 June to express their dissatisfaction with the plans for the new accommodation. For that reason, Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb canceled a conversation with the Feyenoord management at the beginning of June.

On that Saturday evening, a group of Feyenoord supporters, dressed in black hoodies, came to talk to some people who are involved in the plans for the construction of a new Kuip. In any case, it was Ard Buijsen, who is involved as an architect in the Feyenoord City project, general manager Mark Koevermans and house lawyer Joris van Benthem. The police immediately noted the names of the perpetrators, but made no arrests to Feyenoord’s dismay. The club has decided to impose a stadium ban on fifteen of them.

“In recent weeks, in the run-up to the Feyenoord City trial, various parties involved have been threatened and intimidated. This is unacceptable,” Aboutaleb said at the time about the cancellation of the conversation with the management. “Although everything has been done to make the democratic process at City Hall as safe as possible, not everyone involved at City Hall feels free to speak out about decision-making about Feyenoord City.” Koevermans, among others, would provide an update on the current state of affairs. An hour before the meeting was to begin, the congregation decided to draw a line.

A Feyenoord spokesperson confirms the stadium bans to the above broadcaster. “They have been shown to have threatened and intimidated the people,” the response reads. It is not yet known whether the supporters will also be banned from the stadiums nationwide. The KNVB has to make a decision about that. It is not known for how long Feyenoord has imposed a stadium ban on the group of supporters.
