Ferdi Kadioglu must forget about a transfer to Borussia Dortmund. The Turkish international was in the spotlight of the German top club, but they do not want to meet the asking price of 25 to 30 million euros that Fenerbahçe uses.

After leaving the Netherlands, where he played for NEC, Kadioglu has become one of the better players in the Süper Lig at Fenerbahçe. The Arnhem native has a two-year contract with the Yellow Canaries.

Kadioglu was also a starter for Turkey at this European Championship, where he impressed again. Partly due to his performance at the final tournament, Dortmund wanted to start a partnership with Kadioglu.

Dortmund initially wanted to continue with Ian Maatsen, who was on loan from Chelsea last season and made a great impression at Signal Iduna Park. However, due to a lack of financial strength, that did not happen and Maatsen is now a player at Aston Villa.

Dortmund saw Kadioglu as an excellent alternative for the left back position, but did not want to bring the Arnhem native to the club at all costs. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport now reports that Dortmund are definitely no longer in the race for Kadioglu.

The asking price of 25 to 30 million is simply too high, according to Dortmund, and so the club is looking further. A major setback for Kadioglu, who would like a move to the Bundesliga.

The 24-year-old Kadioglu, who can also play as a right back, has played 146 matches in the Süper Lig and has scored 11 goals and provided 16 assists. Kadioglu was previously linked with Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen, but it is currently unknown to what extent this interest is (still) serious.
