Fenerbahçe has reached the final of the Turkish Cup at the expense of Sivasspor. The team of trainer Jorge Jesus was 3-0 too strong, partly thanks to a hit by Ferdi Kadioglu. The Arnhemmer opened the score with a half bicycle kick shortly after the break. The game was decided five minutes later, when Michy Batshuayi made it 2-0 after fine preparatory work by Enner Valencia. Substitute Joshua King provided the icing on the cake in the slot. After the 0-0 from the first leg, that was more than enough to reach the final battle. It will be announced on Thursday whether Ankaragücü or Istanbul Basaksehir will be the opponent in the final. The latter team won the first leg 1-0.

As expected, Jesus had a starting place for Kadioglu in the right-back position. The attacking defender saw Arda Güler in midfield for him. Together they had to provide the supply to the Batshuayi and Valencia strikers. Jayden Oosterwolde had to sit on the bench. At Sivasspor, former VVV player Ahmed Musa started on the bench, but the now thirty-year-old Nigerian would replace the injured Max Gradel before the break.

Fenerbahçe started energetically and had the chance to open the score within ten minutes. A beautiful deep ball from central defender Attila Szalai came perfectly for the feet of Batshuayi, who passed Ali Sasal. However, the goalkeeper quickly returned to his line and had a beautiful save. However, Sivasspor also asserted itself and had a good opportunity a few minutes before the break. Musa, cold five minutes in the field, was too fast for Samet Akaydin and went into the combination with Fredrik Ulvestad. The Norwegian set Musa free in front of goal with a wonderful lob, but the latter’s follow-up pass to striker and compatriot Leke James turned out to be too hard. Fenerbahçe countered forward and unsuccessfully claimed a penalty after going down in the box.

The second half was just over a minute old when Fenerbahçe missed the ultimate chance to take the lead. Batshuayi was played nicely, but saw his shot hit the crossbar via Sasal’s legs. Kadioglu managed to take advantage of the next opportunity. The full-back went into a very nice double one-two with Güler and Irfan Can Kahveci, after which his effort ended up against the feet of Sasal. The goalkeeper then saw his defense save the rebound for Kahveci, but the third time turned out to be a charm for Fenerbahçe. The ball had not yet been cleared and Kadioglu took advantage of that with a half bicycle kick: 1-0. Five minutes later, the game was decided. Valencia cut down his direct opponent and passed perfectly at the far post, where Batshuayi had the ball in front: 2-0. The striker also had an assist on King, who simply tapped in: 3-0.
