Fenerbahçe narrowly won a victory on Monday evening. With a bit of luck, Ismail Kartal’s team managed to score the winning goal against Kasimpasa in the injury time of the second half: 1-2. Fenerbahçe therefore climbs to fourth place, just three points behind number two Konyaspor. Leader Trabzonspor seems unreachable from no less than twenty points away.

Ferdi Kadioglu was missing from Fener due to an injury, as was Mesut Ozil, who has been out of circulation for some time. Jeffrey Bruma is under contract with Kasimpasa, but the defender has been out for months due to a foot injury. Fenerbahçe started well and took the lead after five minutes. That was thanks to Miha Zajc, who curled the ball wonderfully from inside the penalty area towards the intersection: 0-1.

Kasimpasa was not inferior to the top club and fought back at the same level after more than an hour of play. A fantastic hard cross from Awer Mabil landed on Jackson Muleka’s head: 1-1. Fener pumped the ball forward on good luck in the absolute final phase and was lucky that it ended up out of whack with Attila Szalai. The Hungarian defender hit through half a block: 1-2. Kasimpasa ended the game with ten, because Mabil received two yellow cards within a few seconds, probably because of comments on the first yellow print.
