FC Twente will strengthen itself with Dimitris Limnios, so assured ELF Football. The 23-year-old right winger is rented from 1. FC Köln this season and is already in Enschede on Wednesday for his medical examination. According to FC Twente has kicker an option to purchase stipulated in the lease.

A year ago, Köln paid 3.3 million euros for Limnios, who already played sixteen times for the Greek national team and managed to score two goals. National coach John van ‘t Schip last let Limnios play in March in the World Cup qualifier against Georgia (1-1), but did not include him in the selection for the two friendly matches played at the beginning of June.

Limnios, who has a Brazilian mother, broke through in Greece with Atromitos and was acquired by PAOK Saloniki in 2017. At the Greek top club, the wing striker had three successful years and after 10 goals and 14 assists in 112 official matches, Köln decided last year to bring him to Germany. At the Bundesliga club, Limnios struggled and ended up making only 13 appearances, scoring no goals or assists.

After the serious injuries of Virgil Misidjan and Jody Lukoki, FC Twente was looking for reinforcements on the wing positions. The Tukkers are also contracting Denilho Cleonise, who has been training since the beginning of the preparation. Furthermore, FC Twente hopes for an attacking midfielder, for whom Jurgen Ekkelenkamp from Ajax and Michel Vlap from Anderlecht were previously in the picture.
