FC Twente was able to win in extremis against RCK Waalwijk on Friday evening. The experienced striker then outsmarted Vaessens with a controlled shot into the short corner: 0-1. With twelve hits, he is now in third place on the top scorer list in the Eredivisie, behind Sébastien Haller (16) and Guus Til (13). Joshua Brenet, last week the savior of Twente in the final phase against Go Ahead Eagles (2-2), could and perhaps should have taken care of the 0-2 after half an hour. He nevertheless shot the ball from five meters over the goal, after good preparatory work by Michel Vlap. Three minutes before half time, Misidjan also shot over in a promising position after a smooth attack by Twente.
Two minutes after the restart, Misidjan was once again in disbelief after working the ball over the RKC goal from close range. Daan Rots saw a shot being parried by Vaessen in minute 55. Fifteen minutes before the end, the brave RKC came alongside. A shot, which looked more like a cross, from Odgaard’s left flew over the hopeless Unnerstall into the goal, to the delight of everyone and everyone at RKC. Nevertheless, it was not enough for a positive result at home. A cross was extended by Julio Pleguezuelo and from close range Limnios nodded in: 1-2. As a result, the full loot went to Enschede and RKC was left with a hangover.
