FC Twente stipulates a special clause in Naci Ünüvar’s lease, Tijmen van Wissing reports. RTV East. In negotiations with Ajax, the Tukkers failed to enforce an option to buy, but can still earn from the lease. “That will come around. Twente will receive a percentage if it is resold,” said Van Wissing in the talk show The East Stand.

Twente and Ajax are currently handling the final details after The Telegraph and Tubantia already confirmed the impending deal last week. Ünüvar has caused a furore in Ajax’s youth academy in recent years. The Zaandammer made his debut for the team from Amsterdam at the age of sixteen, but his share was ultimately limited to three games.

Last season, Ünüvar went looking for playing minutes at Trabzonspor, which became champions of Turkey the season before. However, the rental period did not prove too successful. In twelve games, he scored three goals and an assist. At the beginning of May it was announced that the talent would return to Amsterdam immediately, because there was no longer any prospect of playing time in Trabzon due to his injury. Ajax did not disclose what kind of injury he sustained. Ünüvar is still under contract in Amsterdam until mid-2026.

Ünüvar is a welcome reinforcement for FC Twente. The Tukkers have lost several players in recent weeks. Virgil Misidjan and Václav Cerný, among others, left the club for PAOK and VfL Wolfsburg respectively. The club did manage to strengthen itself with Younes Taha at an earlier stage. The right attacker came over from PEC Zwolle. With the arrival of Ünüvar, trainer Joseph Oosting has another option for the diptych with Hammarby in the second preliminary round of the Conference League.
