Latest update:

Sam Lammers is the new striker of FC Twente, the Tukkers announced via the official channels. The 27-year-old attacker signs a three-year contract in De Grolsch Veste, until mid-2027.

“I have had several conversations with the trainer and Arnold (Bruggink, technical director, ed.) in the past few months,” Lammers says on the club website of the Enschede players. “I have a very positive feeling about that.”

“In addition, the club FC Twente speaks for itself. What they are doing really appeals to me. We are definitely going to play European football and hopefully we will enter the Champions League,” the brand new striker refers to the third preliminary round of the billion-dollar ball.

FC Twente will face RB Salzburg in a two-legged match in that preliminary round. On 6 August, FC Twente will travel to Austria for the first leg, and on 13 August, the return leg will be played in their own stadium.

Trainer Joseph Oosting can therefore count on Lammers in this two-parter. Twente has been chasing the arrival of the attacking leader for some time and has now finally reached an agreement with Rangers about the transfer of the striker.

According to The Telegraph there is a transfer fee of three million euros including bonuses involved with the arrival of the striker, who himself also had quite hefty salary demands. However, those wrinkles have now also been ironed out.

FC Utrecht, the club where Lammers performed excellently in the past six months with ten league goals, would also have liked to take over the attacker, but could not meet all the financial requirements, according to the morning newspaper.
