Bart van Hintum and his family have received wonderful news. The 34-year-old defender of FC Groningen announces that no more leukemia cells have been detected in his daughter.

On Tuesday afternoon, the defender and his wife were told during the results of the last bone marrow biopsy that there were no more leukemia cells in their daughter’s blood. “To be sure that the leukemia stays away, there is still a process of 1 year and 9 months. But how Chloé has gone from 95% leukemia cells to 0.000% in the past 2.5 months, we are confident that she will continue to pop,” Van Hintum said on Instagram.

The life of Van Hintum’s family turned into a nightmare in June when his daughter Chloé was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Despite the bad news, the defender sounded combative on Instagram at the time. “The next few years will be very tough, but together we will fight this battle. Chloé is already a real fighter in daily life and this will be no different now.”

Groningen calls the good news of the Van Hintum family on Twitter the moment of the week. At the end of June, supporters of FC Groningen and TOP Oss set up a card campaign for his family. At the time, it also resulted in many hundreds of reactions via social media for the defender, who was born in Oss. After the positive news, the 34-year-old left back can focus more on the pride of the north. He extended his contract in March and recently made his comeback in the derby against sc Heerenveen (1-1).
