Francesco Farioli has shared Ajax's line-up for the clash with FK Vojvodina. Steven Berghuis has not been deemed fit enough for a starting spot. The attacker, who is on the bench, will be replaced on the right by Christian Rasmussen. Remko Pasveer is preferred in goal over Diant Ramaj, as expected. The duel in the second preliminary round of the Europa League starts at 20:30 and can be seen on Ziggo Sport.

Dies Janse's starting debut was expected at Ajax, but the young centre-back takes a seat on the bench. Youri Baas plays in his place at the back.

Farioli did not want to confirm at the press conference on Wednesday whether Pasveer would be preferred over Ramaj, but that now appears to be the case. Pasveer sees a four-man defense in front of him, consisting of Devyne Rensch, Josip Sutalo, Baas and Jorrel Hato. Captain Jordan Henderson forms the midfield with Kian Fitz-Jim and Kenneth Taylor. Up front, striker Chuba Akpom is flanked by Rasmussen (right) and Carlos Forbs (left).

Farioli is satisfied with the preparation Ajax has made. “Players who played at the European Championship will be fit enough to play minutes,” he said at the press conference. “We didn't lose a minute in the preparation. I'm happy about that. It may have been tough on everyone's legs, but also mentally. They have to learn a lot from our way of playing. I can only thank the players for taking everything on so well.”

Farioli is wary of Vojvodina, who opened the Serbian league last week with a 3-1 win over FK Tekstilac Odzaci. “We looked at their team from last season. We also want feedback from the clubs that played against them and we need to understand what their plan is during the match.”

“They are good at rotating systems and tactics during the game. It is important to be ready as a team and to read what plan to have. They are certainly good at dead ball situations. They will be trained every week, both offensively and defensively.”

Farioli will not be able to count on Owen Wijndal and Bertrand Traoré. The left back suffered a contusion in the friendly against Olympiacos and was therefore unable to train in the run-up to the match against Vojvodina. In the case of Traoré, the paperwork has not yet been fully processed. In addition, the attacker from Burkina Faso is not yet fully fit.

Ajax line-up: feather key; Rensch, Sutalo, Baas, Hato; Fitz-Jim, Henderson, Taylor; Rasmussen, Akpom, Forbs.

FK Vojvodina line-up: Carevic; Butean, Sichenje, Crnomarkovic, Lucas Barros; Ivanovic, Petrovic, Savicevic; Yusuf, Poletanovic, Zady Sery.
