Francesco Farioli does not dare to say whether he will have Bertrand Traoré at his disposal next week. Ajax will kick off the new season with the Europa League meeting against FK Vojvodina, but there is a chance that the newcomer will not be there.

Traoré was officially presented by Ajax on Monday, but the Amsterdammers have not yet completed the paperwork. As soon as the final matters have been settled, Farioli can call on the striker from Burkina Faso.

On Thursday evening, before the friendly match against Al Wasl, Farioli explained Traoré's situation. “We have to wait and see how he adapts,” said the coach at Ziggo Sport.

“We want him to enter the field in good physical conditions,” the Italian said, keeping his options open.

Besides the paperwork not being in order yet, Farioli also calls his acquisition 'a physically special player'. “He hasn't worked with the team yet either.”

“I think it's going to be difficult,” Farioli summarizes the situation. “We still have to sort out some paperwork. We're trying, but it's not sorted out yet.”

Ajax will face FK Vojvodina in the second preliminary round of the Europa League. Next week, the Amsterdammers will play at home first. A week later, the encounter will take place in Serbia.
