Yvon Mvogo is not yet sure whether he will also play for PSV next season. The 26-year-old goalkeeper could be recalled by RB Leipzig, the club from which the Eindhoven team has hired him for two seasons. However, Mvogo hopes to stay with PSV to compete with Joël Drommel, who will come over from FC Twente this summer.

It is still unclear what Leipzig’s plans for Mvogo are. The Swiss acted as a reserve goalkeeper at the Bundesliga club for three seasons and was loaned out to PSV last summer. Under Roger Schmidt, Mvogo became the undisputed number one under the bar and played 39 official matches so far. “Nothing is certain yet,” Mvogo told it Eindhovens Dagblad about next season. “I am going to defend my place at PSV if Leipzig does not recall me. If and when they want to do that, I honestly do not know.”

Mvogo expresses the hope of staying in Eindhoven. “I really want to stay with PSV and I think it is excellent that the club has bought Drommel. That is a sign of ambition. A club with the status and objectives of PSV needs two good keepers. Since I will only have one year after this season. under contract and Lars Unnerstall is leaving, PSV had to do something with an eye to the future. ” The latter is also transfer-free from PSV to FC Twente.

Mvogo also expresses appreciation for the opportunity Schmidt has given him at PSV. “For the whole of PSV and especially for the trainer, I think it is a shame that we have not won a prize, but I am very optimistic for next season,” said the goalie. “Something really beautiful can arise at PSV and I would like to be a part of it.”
