Latest update:

Manchester United wants to add René Hake to the technical staff, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday. The Red Devils want to bring the Go Ahead Eagles coach to Old Trafford on the advice of Erik ten Hag. Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooij must support Ten Hag in Manchester next season.

The 52-year-old Hake is still with Go Ahead Eagles until mid-2026, which means that Manchester United must first reach an agreement with the club from Deventer. According to Romano, the English are convinced that it will work.

Ten Hag himself has already agreed on a new contract with Manchester United. The contract for the 54-year-old manager from Haaksbergen is already ready, although the final wrinkles, including the staffing, still have to be ironed out. Hake and Van Nistelrooij must provide Ten Hag's staff with new impetus.

So there is a good chance that Go Ahead Eagles will lose Hake. The Coevorden-born coach has been at the helm in Deventer since July 2022. Kowet thought he would enter Europe with Hake, but will most likely have to look for a new head coach.
