Tonight Ajax will take on Young Boys in the eighth finals of the Europa League at 6.55 pm. Trainer Erik ten Hag chooses in the Johan Cruijff ArenA to bring Edson Álvarez, who played against FC Groningen (3-1 win) as center-back, back to midfield. This is at the expense of Mohammed Kudus, who is sitting on the couch. At the front, Ten Hag opts for Dusan Tadic in the striker, as is now customary in the Europa League. Brian Brobbey was in doubt, but is fit enough to sit on the couch.

Ajax has to do without Daley Blind. The the Dutch-international was already missing against FC Groningen last weekend due to a knee injury he sustained in the semi-finals of the TOTO KNVB Cup against sc Heerenveen. On Wednesday at the press conference, Ten Hag announced that Blind would not have recovered in time for tonight’s game. Noussair Mazraoui is also still missing from Ajax. The Moroccan international has been sidelined for weeks because of an injury that has affected his eyesight. André Onana and Sébastien Haller are missing for known reasons.

More soon.

Ajax setup: Stekelenburg; Rensch, Timber, Martinez, Tagliafico; Álvarez, Klaassen, Gravenberch; Antony, Tadic, Neres.
