Erik ten Hag and Marc Overmars do not succumb (for the time being) to the big money from the Premier League, reports The Telegraph. The trainer and director of player affairs have informed Ajax that they will in any case finish the season in Amsterdam. Ten Hag and Overmars are emphatically associated with Manchester United and Newcastle United respectively.

Ten Hag is on a shortlist in Manchester, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said goodbye on Saturday. However, the Ajax trainer does not seem like a first choice at Old Trafford: according to the BBC Zinedine Zidane was first approached and, after his cancellation, Mauricio Pochettino is now top candidate. Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers is also in the picture. “The more difficult it is to get one of those last three, the greater the chance that the leadership of Manchester United will end up with the coach of Ajax,” said Ajax. The Telegraph.

Ten Hag was asked on Sunday after the win against RKC Waalwijk (0-5) about the possible interest. “I am working on this team”, Ten Hag emphasized to ESPN. “We have a very nice selection, we want to achieve a lot and I focus on that. That’s where all the concentration is, the rest just distracts. I expect my players to be at Ajax, so I have to set a good example .” According to Ten Hag, there is currently nothing concrete about an appointment at Old Trafford. “I don’t know anything, I haven’t heard anything, so I don’t have to worry about that at all. I only focus on Ajax.”

Ten Hag made a similar announcement to his leadership on Monday, as is known The Telegraph. The coach does not want to leave Ajax in the middle of the battle for the national title and the hitherto extremely successful Champions League campaign. The capitals took the lead in the Eredivisie on goal difference on Sunday and are already certain of wintering in the Champions League after four rounds. Ten Hag believes in new prices with Ajax and will therefore not leave in the middle of the season, not even for the triple salary that United could pay.

Overmars has also expressed his commitment to Ajax. Until recently, the director was one of the three main candidates to set out the transfer policy at Newcastle United. Overmars was invited for an interview in the north of England, but after much deliberation has decided not to, it sounds like. That is possible according to The Telegraph have to do with the dramatic sporting situation of the club, which is in a relegation spot in the Premier League. The new Saudi Arabian owners are betting on a substantial injection of millions in the winter transfer period.
