Eljero Elia has responded via Instagram to the news about Mohamed Ihattaren and Ajax. The wing attacker of ADO Den Haag writes under an Instagram post from ESPN with a photo of Ihattaren in the shirt of Ajax in the first instance ‘respect’. Shortly afterwards, he adds in a more extensive response that he knows that Ihattaren will flourish again under Ajax coach Erik ten Hag.

Elia’s first comment generates some critical reactions, after which he comes up with a second reaction. “Sick people on Insta. Write off a nineteen-year-old boy who lost his father. You have no heart and yes, I know Ten Hag personally. I know: he’s going to let it bloom again,” emphasizes Elia. He worked with Ten Hag between 2007 and 2009, when the current Ajax coach was working as an assistant at FC Twente.

“Keep on hating, have a nice day. I pray for you old internet heroes”, concludes Elia in his reaction. Various media report that Ihattaren has had a positive conversation with Ajax, so that it currently seems that the team from Amsterdam is going to hire him from Juventus. Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano states that Ihattaren only has to figure it out with Ajax at the moment, as Juventus has already given the green light. There is still talk about the duration of the rental period and a possible option to purchase.
