Ryan Babel does not travel with the Dutch national team to Poland for the last group match in the Nations League. The KNVB reports that Ryan Babel is the only one who tested positive in the PCR test taken yesterday among players and technical staff. Babel had already been separated from the selection after receiving complaints. Galatasaray’s attacker remains behind in the Netherlands, the union reports.

Babel left the training camp on Sunday as a precaution because he was not feeling well. In the press release, the KNVB assured that Babel had taken a negative PCR test three times. Because Babel had complaints, it was decided to bring him back to the players’ hotel well before the game and to separate him there in a separate wing. A rapid test nevertheless yielded a positive result on Sunday evening. A new test shows that the attacker turns out to be positive again, forcing him to be quarantined.

National coach Frank de Boer still had hope for an available Babel. “In the past there have also been wrong quick tests”, he said on Sunday after the game with Bosnia and Herzegovina (3-1). “Because he also had headaches, we didn’t take any risks. At least he had symptoms. Then we do not take any risks. That turned out to be a good choice. ” De Boer is not calling for a replacement for Babel. The Dutch will face Poland tomorrow-evening at 8.45 PM.
