Internazionale has done excellent business in Serie A. The team of coach Simone Inzaghi won 0-2 against a very impotent AS Roma. Denzel Dumfries delivered the nice assist with Federico Dimarco’s 0-1. Inter ran into problems sporadically and decided the game ten minutes before the end. Roger Ibañez just handed in to Lautaro Martínez, who enabled Romelu Lukaku to score. Thanks to the victory, Inter climbs over AC Milan to fourth place. For number seven AS Roma, winning the Europa League seems to be the only option for a Champions League ticket for next season.

Mourinho had to deal with a laundry list of injuries. For example, Paulo Dybala, Chris Smalling, Georginio Wijnaldum, Stephan El Shaarawy, Diego Llorente and Rick Karsdorp could not be of service to the Romans. As a result, midfielder Bryan Cristante moved a line back to the defense, making room in midfield for Edoardo Bove and Mady Camara, among others. Andrea Belotti, also not completely fit, was at the point of the attack. At Inter, Dumfries again got a starting place, although Stefan de Vrij had to make do with a place on the bench. The central defender saw his place taken by Francesco Acerbi. Lukaku and Joaquín Correa were the strikers, because Martínez and Edin Dzeko were rested.

The pace in the first fifteen minutes was not too high. Inter seemed to be most entitled to a hit in the first minutes, although Lorenzo Pellegrini came closest. The midfielder had a nice shot from the edge of the box and André Onana barely saw his attempt turn into a corner kick. Inter seemed to have more peace in his game and struck mercilessly after just over half an hour of play. Dumfries was given all the space on the right side and put the ball ready at the far post. where Dimarco simply shot in: 0-1. Very little happened in the closing stages of the first half. Roma tried, but the team lacked conviction. Inter seemed to like to rest with the 0-1 score and that happened.

Harmless shots from Correa, Nicola Zalewski and Dimarco heralded the start of the second act. Roma got into the game a little better and claimed a penalty after an unfortunate hand by Matteo Darmian, but to the dismay of the home side, Roma were only awarded a corner kick. From there Roger Ibañez forced Onana to another great save. Roma dropped back to their pre-half level as the second half progressed and so Mourinho brought Dybala in the line. The world champion had to watch Lukaku put an end to all tension twenty minutes before the end. Ibañez just handed in to substitute Martínez, who in turn played Lukaku. The Belgian remained icy calm: 0-2. In the final phase, Martínez hit the crossbar with a nice shot and Camara shot wildly over.
