Kyle Hudlin may be preparing for an absolute top transfer. A delegation from Manchester City attended the friendly game between Solihull Moors and Notts County last Saturday to see the 21-year-old striker at work. At 2.06 meters tall, Hudlin is known as the tallest outfield player in English football. For example, he is a lot taller than Peter Crouch, who is 2.01 meters tall.

A move to Manchester City would be particularly miraculous, as Hudlin reached the seventh tier of English football a year ago with Solihull United. Less than a year ago, he made the switch to Solihull Moors, which plays in the National League at the fifth level of English football. There he scored 10 goals in 34 official games last season and with that he has attracted the interest of the necessary clubs.

“I’m enjoying Solihull, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have aspirations in England and the Champions League. Of course I realize how far away that is, but I want to make the leap. If all goes well, I’ll be playing in the Football League soon,” Hudlin said a few months ago in conversation with The Sun. The Football League are the four highest tiers of English football. A delegation from Manchester City stood by the line to watch Hudlin during the preparation for the new season of Solihull Moors.

In the past Hudlin was offered an offer from West Bromwich Albion but was unable to join the youth academy of the baggies because his parents couldn’t bring him. As a result, the striker entered senior football at the lower levels of English football at a young age. “People are already scared off when I get off the bus,” Hudlin said of his height. “That mental battle has already been won. I have enough confidence to think as soon as I step on the field that I am better and bigger than my opponents.”
