Manchester United have offered Donny van de Beek to both Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United, the knows Manchester Evening News. The midfielder of the Red Devils also gets hardly any playing minutes under Ralf Rangnick, making it increasingly likely that he will leave temporarily or not in January.

As his prospects of playing time have not improved since the summer, Van de Beek is open to a departure from United during the winter transfer window. According to the English medium, his camp has discussed a possible switch in the short term with both Dortmund and Newcastle. Van de Beek played the last twenty minutes of the won FA Cup game against Aston Villa (1-0 win) on Monday and was praised by Rangnick after the game.

The German coach also said last week that he appreciated Van de Beek and considered him part of his plans. That is not at all apparent from the actions of the coach, because the role of the midfielder has hardly changed since Rangnick took office. Under Rangnick, Van de Beek only had a basic place in the Champions League match against Young Boys (1-1), but it was significant that a complete B-team was drafted at the time.

“He just has to work hard,” said Rangnick – who will work at Manchester United as a manager until the end of the season at least and will remain associated with the club after that – when asked what Van de Beek should do to to get playing time. “I have come to know him so far as someone with a great mentality, he works very hard during every training session. He is a really great team player and there will definitely be games where he will get his chances.”
