Dinamo Zagreb has made an offer of two million euros for Danilho Doekhi, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday afternoon. The defender has only been under contract in Arnhem for a year and is regularly associated with a transfer this summer. Di Marzio does not report how Vitesse views the offer of two million euros.

Earlier this month reported The Telegraph that Feyenoord had reported to Vitesse for Doekhi, before the club strengthened itself with Gernot Trauner from LASK. The difference between supply and demand turned out to be too great. Feyenoord inquired at Vitesse about the conditions to buy off Doekhi’s one-year contract. According to Arnhem, the amount that the Rotterdammers wanted to spend on the 23-year-old defender was discussed in Arnhem The Telegraph ‘jokingly said they couldn’t even get one leg from the defender for that’.

The 23-year-old Doekhi, who came over from Jong Ajax in 2018, is the captain of Vitesse. He played in 32 league matches last season and already played a total of 84 official matches for Vitesse. Due to a muscle injury, he was missing during the season overture against PEC Zwolle on Sunday, but he did play in both games against Dundalk in the third qualifying round of the Conference League.

“The transfer market is still open for another month. At the moment I am fully focused on Vitesse,” said the defender himself earlier this month. Doekhi did not completely rule out a transfer later this month, but is open to a longer stay in GelreDome if there is no departure. In recent months, the former Ajax and Excelsior player was mainly associated with a transfer to the Premier League in England and Scotland. The names of Fulham, Rangers and Newcastle United fell.
