Frank Arnesen would have wanted to talk if Ajax had approached him for the position of technical director. The Dane has been unemployed since his departure from Feyenoord and also has a past as a player with the team from Amsterdam. However, Arnesen still enjoys his rest, he confirms Good morning Premier League. “Technical director is just 24/7.”

Feyenoord said goodbye to Arnesen in September, after he had already taken a temporary break due to his health. Before that, he held the position of technical director at the Rotterdam team for almost two years. Now that Arnesen is doing better, however, he is not yet eager to tackle a full-time job again. “You all know what that’s like: technical director is just 24/7,” said the Dane to his table mates.

Arnesen is now on the golf course a lot, he says. Presenter Hans Kraay junior sees an entrance. “And, said no to Ajax in between golf? Between holes eight and nine just: ‘Ajax, no?'”, says Kraay. Arnesen bursts into laughter. “You can always talk. But I don’t know if I would. Of course I played football at Ajax, so I have a past. But I didn’t think about it at all anyway. I was more looking at how I am doing Have a nice holiday.”

Kraay is not yet satisfied. “But if Van der Sar had called you”, he tries again, “would you have thrown it on?” Arnesen admits: “No, probably not.” The Danish former midfielder played for Ajax between 1975 and 1981 and ended his professional career seven years later with PSV. In 1994 he first came to work in the position of technical director at the Eindhoven team. Arnesen also held that position at Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, among others, before he started working at Feyenoord in January 2020. Ajax has already teamed up with Sven Mislintat.
