Latest update:

Remko Pasveer seems to have an advantage over Diant Ramaj as Ajax's first keeper under Francesco Farioli, reports Football International Tuesday. As a result, an outgoing transfer of the 22-year-old goalkeeper from Germany would no longer be out of the question, according to journalist Tim van Duijn.

According to Van Duijn, Ramaj is in danger of ending up on the bench at Ajax again. “The fact that it was not Ramaj, but Pasveer who was in goal for Farioli's 'A-team' last Saturday, was a signal that the Italian's preference seems to be for the latter keeper.”

The journalist mentions a 'new blow' for Ramaj, whose situation seems to be changing. “Until recently, Ramaj was not for sale, but because of his threatening reserve role, a sale before August 31 is suddenly no longer out of the question. That would also give Ajax extra financial resources to do more on the transfer market,” says Van Duijn.

Ramaj has a contract at the Johan Cruijff ArenA until mid-2028. Transfer market estimates his current market value at 18 million euros. Last summer, then technical director Sven Mislintat took over the young goalie from Eintracht Frankfurt for around 5 million euros.

Ramaj had a difficult start at Ajax, but kept himself in the starting line-up during the past season. In his first 31 matches under the bar at Ajax, the goalie only managed to keep a clean sheet 5 times. In total, Ramaj had to concede 51 goals.

According to VI Farioli chooses the forty-year-old Pasveer over Ramaj. The experienced goalkeeper from Enschede seemed to hang up his gloves, but eventually decided to stick with it for another season.

The two-time international of the Dutch national team may prove himself as the first goalkeeper. Pasveer has so far kept 50 official matches for Ajax, in which he kept a clean sheet 26 times. He had to fish 48 times.
