PSV is not afraid of a summer departure of Mario Götze, so report Eindhovens Dagblad and Football International following the reporting of Sky Deutschland. The German television channel stated that the 28-year-old attacking midfielder would want to leave Eindhoven after one season. However, there would be no concrete interest in Götze at the moment.

It Eindhovens Dagblad writes that there will be an evaluation moment at the end of the season and that a number of agreements have been made about this. According to the regional daily, Götze can leave for a ‘substantial amount of millions’ if a club from one of the major European competitions reports. “Not for an apple and an egg and not for an unlimited amount, but there is a limit (unknown to the outside world) on what PSV can ask for him”, it writes. Football International also mentions a clause in Götze’s contract with PSV, which runs until mid-2022. The people of Eindhoven agreed in October to fish the normally financially unattainable Götze. At the time, the 63-time German international was assisted by someone from his own circle of friends, but has now teamed up with a new agent. Götze was previously affiliated with the Lian Sports agency, which also has Leroy Sané and Jérôme Boateng in its stable. Marc Kosicke, Götze’s new agent, is also looking after the interests of Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

PSV would not be surprised about this switch, although that is now causing the necessary speculation. However, the Eindhoven team is counting on Götze to stay at least another year, especially if a ticket for the preliminary round of the Champions League is obtained through second place. For the time being, in any case, no club has signed up for Götze, which according to reports from Sky the step to a better competition than the Eredivisie would like to make.

Since his arrival at PSV, Götze has played fifteen matches in a competition context, fourteen of which as a basic player. In it he managed to find the net five times. In the cup tournament he only made minutes in the game against De Graafschap (1-2 win), while the counter in the Europa League is six games. In a European context, Götze managed to score once. The attacking midfielder has a two-year contract with PSV that will run until next summer.
