The departure of Robert Bozeník from Feyenoord has gained momentum. Feyenoord Transfermarkt reports that there is a ‘shot’ in a transfer of the 21-year-old Slovak striker at Feyenoord, for whom Fortuna Düsseldorf is currently the most concrete candidate. An agreement between all parties could even be finalized this weekend, it sounds like.

In recent days, Bozeník’s departure has slowly but surely become more concrete. BILD announced the interest of Fortuna Düsseldorf on Wednesday evening, but at the same time screened with more exploratory interest from Portugal, Germany and Russia. Feyenoord Transfermarkt then reported that furthermore VfB Stuttgart, PEC Zwolle, 1. FC Nürnberg, FK UFA, Dinamo Moscow and GD Estoril-Praia were in the market for Bozeník.

Bozeník weighed up his options and Fortuna Düsseldorf is currently the most concrete option for the striker. The club is playing in the 2. Bundesliga for the second season in a row, after having played at the highest level in Germany in 2018/19 and 2019/20. It is currently unclear whether Bozeník can leave Feyenoord permanently or on a rental basis. It was reported at an earlier stage that Feyenoord wanted to make financial room for the arrival of a (versatile) attacker with the temporary departure of the striker.

Bozeník seemed to switch from MSK Zilina to Hamburger SV in January last year, but it was Feyenoord that won the battle for his signature and paid four million euros. He played 58 matches for MSK Zilina in all competitions and scored 19 goals. In South Rotterdam, the attacker did not shine: after 28 official games, the counter stands at 4 hits and 2 assists. His contract runs until mid-2024.

Valentin Castellanos
In recent days, the name of Valentín Castellanos has been around as a possible new striker of Feyenoord. Feyenoord Transfermarkt stated that the negotiations with New York City about the 22-year-old Argentinian were ‘going in the right direction’, but trainer Arne Slot called his arrival ‘not realistic’ and Sinclair Bischop also does not see him coming to De Kuip. “It certainly won’t be,” says the Feyenoord watcher of RTV Rijnmond in FC Rijnmond. “Feyenoord hopes to get by with a wing attacker this weekend. That is of course also necessary.”
