Stefan de Vrij has not been approached for a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, the 29-year-old defender of Internazionale said in an interview with Ziggo Sports. De Vrij would be in the interest of the club where his former coach Antonio Conte has been at the helm since last week. According to various English media, Conte will have 175 million euros at his disposal in the upcoming transfer period, from which De Vrij, among others, should be taken.

I Nerazzurri Earlier this week, through technical director Piero Ausilio, announced that no player may leave in the coming transfer period, unless someone makes a transfer request themselves. Arsenal club legend Kevin Campbell, however, was convinced that wouldn’t stop Conte. “If De Vrij is the one who wants Conte, Tottenham will get him,” Campbell said firmly Football Insider.

However, De Vrij has his head in the coming duels. “That’s a priority right now,” he laughs. Under national coach Louis van Gaal, the former Feyenoord player finally seems to be able to count on a base place again, after having played second fiddle behind Matthijs De Ligt for years. De Vrij was also a basic player in the selection for the 2014 World Cup, where Van Gaal managed to guide his team to a good third place.
