Couhaib Driouech was close to a switch to PSV last winter, but the Eindhoven team did not reach an agreement with his club Excelsior. This summer, PSV wants to try again to sign the 22-year-old winger, but they have competition from Royal Antwerp FC and FC Twente. Yet the newly crowned national champion of the Netherlands ultimately has the best chance of getting Driouech's signature, you know The Telegraph.

Driouech is one of the few bright spots at Excelsior this season, which is currently still fighting against relegation in the Kitchen Champion Play-Offs. The first match in the semi-final was won on Wednesday against ADO Den Haag: 1-2.

Driouech was good for a goal and an assist, and seems to be in his last weeks in Kralingen. Several top clubs are interested in his services.

PSV's interest had been known for some time, but Antwerp also entered the battle for his signature at the beginning of May. The Belgians have according to Football International even made an offer for him. The same football magazine also reported a few days ago that FC Twente also wants to get involved in the battle for Driouech.

However, the biggest contender to acquire Driouech is PSV, you know The Telegraph based on sources in Belgium. This may partly have to do with the fact that Antwerp has to take a step back financially.

In addition, the Belgian club seems close to an agreement with a comparable player: Tjaronn Chery from NEC. “I happened to speak to him this morning,” Karim El Ahmadi said on Thursday evening ESPN about Chery. “It looks like he will sign with Royal Antwerp. He is also concerned about the gesture that they want to give him a two-year contract.”

It is not known how much Driouech, who is under contract with Excelsior until mid-2025, will cost. However, it is expected that it will be less than the four million euros that PSV wanted to pay for him last winter.
