Marten de Roon has responded on social media to his failed goal attempt in the second half in the game between the Netherlands and Austria (2-0). After an hour of play, the Atalanta midfielder got the ball at his feet after a corner deflected off. De Roon didn’t think twice, lashed out wildly and shot sky high. The the Dutch international is known on social media for his self-mockery and is now showing this again on the basis of an old advertisement from 2002, in which Dick Advocaat played a leading role.

In the advertisement of Calvé Peanut Butter of almost twenty years old, a small football player makes fun of the now former trainer of, among others, Feyenoord and the Dutch national team. He pretends to have kicked the ball on his balcony. When Advocaat returns the ball, he wonders if the situation is correct. The commercial was awarded the Gouden Loeki in 2002.
