David Neres seems to be able to flee Ukraine soon. The Shakhtar Donetsk attacker posted on Instagram earlier in the day a video from a Kiev hotel urging the Brazilian government to help, and also shared footage of shelling being heard. Among other Globo Esporte and ESPN now report that all Brazilian players of Shakhtar and Dynamo Kiev with their relatives are on their way by train towards the Romanian border, of which Neres himself also shares images via Instagram.

Neres shared a video for the second time on Saturday afternoon calling on the Brazilian government to help. It criticized the flight plan that had been offered to them. The intention was that the businessmen and football players still present and their families would take the train to Chernivtsi, which is located in southwestern Ukraine near the border with Romania. “How are we supposed to take this train?” a representative of the group wonders in the video. It was also cited that there was ‘no food, no milk and no diapers’.

“The embassy cannot guarantee that there will be room for everyone on the train. In addition, we have to walk two kilometers with children and people of age, while we hear gunshots and bombs from 800 meters away,” it is explained. “So the only option is to stay here and wait for an effective plan. We believe in the Brazilian government, we know they care about us. But the embassy of Portugal has provided vehicles and an escape plan for the Portuguese here.”

Shortly after the call, Neres also shared images from Kiev on Instagram on which shots can be heard. That may have had an effect, because all Brazilian players from Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kiev have left the Ukrainian capital with their relatives. Maria Souza – the wife of Shakhtar defender Marlon – posts images of their departure from the hotel in Kiev on Instagram. “We’re getting out of here now,” Souza said in the video. “The embassy has informed us that three trains will depart. We leave with a convoy with all Brazilians to the station. It’s very scary.”

Globo Esporte reports that the Brazilians were forced to take the train as the situation in the hotel became more and more complicated. Gustavo Hofman, journalist for ESPN, shares photos of the Brazilian players in the train via Twitter and Neres also posts a video from the train via Instagram. The intention is that they cross the border into Romania at Chernivtsi, after which they can board a plane to Brazil in Bucharest. Juninho, Guilherme Smith and Cristian – players of Zorya Luhansk – previously fled Kiev towards Lviv and crossed the border into Poland by foot.
