Wim Kieft sees a negative trend emerging at Feyenoord, he writes in his latest column The Telegraph. The former striker believes that the bar must be raised in South Rotterdam to be able to challenge PSV. “Now PSV can afford a defeat in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.”

Kieft thinks it is a shame that Ajax – PSV has become a lot less interesting due to Feyenoord's draw against FC Twente (0-0) last week. “The momentum is gone, the hunger does not radiate and the critical capacity in De Kuip is hard to find. How else is it possible that you don't hear anyone about that draw against FC Twente? Then it must be stormy?”, says Kieft .

Feyenoord was given an opportunity against FC Twente to decide the game in its favor, but Santiago Gimenez missed from eleven meters. PSV, in turn, easily won against Almere City (2-0) and thus increased the gap to twelve points.

Kieft sees Arne Slot mainly complaining about the lack of quality on the flanks. “Fine, but he got them all himself or gave his approval or worked with them before like Alireza Jahanbakhsh. In such a case you also have to consult yourself like Arne Slot.”

Moreover, Feyenoord lacks faith, Kieft notices. “You mainly hear that the team is focusing on second place, which entitles it to participate in the Champions League next season. But with faith in consolidating the national title and two more points, Feyenoord would have reached seven points with Ajax's win over PSV. .”

While Ajax and PSV will face each other on Saturday evening, Feyenoord will visit AZ on Sunday. The gap with the Alkmaarders is eight points in favor of Slot's team. Earlier this season, Feyenoord won 1-0 in De Kuip thanks to a goal by Quinten Timber.
