A leaked photo circulating on social media shows Couhaib Driouech wearing number 21 at PSV. The technician was not due to be presented until Monday, but the Eindhoven team announced his arrival on Sunday evening.

Driouech was very close to a transfer to PSV during the winter break, but despite the fact that he had already traveled to Eindhoven, the two clubs were still unable to reach an agreement.

Excelsior wanted to keep the chance of survival as big as possible and therefore decided to refuse the Eindhoven team's million-dollar offer. Excelsior was still relegated and PSV's interest in Driouech remained.

Earlier this week it reported Eindhoven Daily Newspaper that PSV and Excelsior were finally approaching an agreement. Excelsior will receive an amount of reportedly 3.5 million euros, which could increase to 4 million. A considerable financial boost for the Kralingers, who hope to return to the highest level as soon as possible.

Rik Elfrink from the ED shares a leaked image of Driouech proudly holding up his PSV shirt at his presentation in the Philips Stadium on X. Number 21 is clearly visible on the shirt, despite the poor quality of the photo. The last player to wear that number was Anwar El Ghazi.

Driouech will sign until mid-2029 and that also applies to Ryan Flamingo, who will cost PSV almost nine million euros and comes from FC Utrecht. “Presentations not expected until tomorrow (Monday, ed.). Please be patient,” Elfrink writes as a caption.

PSV later announced Driouech's arrival. Driouech will indeed play with number 21.

PSV has started preparing for the new season. On Saturday, coach Peter Bosz's team played their first practice match. That didn't exactly go smoothly, as they lost 0-3 to Anderlecht.
