The encounter between Cadiz and Valencia in LaLiga did not produce a winner on Saturday. Thanks in part to Jasper Cillessen, the game ended goalless: 0-0. The game was mainly dominated by the reunion between Mouctar Diakhaby and Juan Cala. The latter is said to have racially treated the defender during the mutual duel in April this year, in the same stadium, after which the visitors went to the dressing room and the game was stopped for half an hour. There was no real reunion between Diakhaby and Cala for a long time on Saturday, as both started on the bench. The Valencia defender came in after an hour of play, after which a deafening whistle concert from the fans of Cádiz followed. Valencia coach José Bordalás was not happy about that and he tried to silence the fans, without much success. At every ball contact, Diakhaby was also whistled by the supporters of the southern Spanish club.
Cala made his appearance after 77 minutes and the tension on the field increased both literally and figuratively. Cillessen had to come into action on a shot by Alfonso Espino and a few minutes later a scrimmage took place in the Valencia penalty area: the Dutchman complained about a kick to his hand, Iván Alejo hit the aluminum and the game was eventually interrupted due to offside .
A few minutes before the end, a bet by Gonçalo Guedes grazed the post. Salient: Diakhaby was furious with the referee in extra time for calling for a goal kick instead of a corner kick, after which he vented his anger towards the referee. It was Cala who intervened and Diakhaby was booked. Valencia does not get along much with a draw. Only two points were taken in the last four games. After the international match, a game with Barcelona awaits.
