Latest update:

Ajax has also rejected the second offer for Chuba Akpom, according to reports The Telegraph and Football International. The 28-year-old striker could go to Nottingham Forest on Deadline Day, but will finish the season in Amsterdam.

Nottingham Forest reported for Akpom again late on Thursday evening, Fabrizio Romano said. Earlier in the evening, Ajax had already received an initial proposal from the Premier League

Ajax also rejected Forest's second bid for Akpom. It was a rental proposal for six months, with an option to purchase, which becomes mandatory if the team is not relegated from the Premier League.

“Nottingham Forest are now trying again for Akpom, after Ajax's decision to reject the opening bid,” Romano reported on X around 9:30 PM.

Ajax ultimately did not agree to the resolutive conditions that Forest imposed on the mandatory purchase option. The Amsterdam team thinks the risk of the club being relegated is too great, even with the light on the current sixteenth place in the Premier League rankings.

Akpom had his sights set on a move to Forest and will be disappointed. The attacker has played twenty times for Ajax so far, scoring nine times.
