Latest update:

Presenter Hélène Hendriks and reporter Noa Vahle are negotiating a switch from Talpa to Ziggo, sports marketer Chris Woerts said in the column on Tuesday evening. The Walkways by Today Inside. According to the Maassluis-born television man, it is quite possible that the Talpa stars will make a 'transfer' in the short term.

Talpa is in danger of losing two popular women with Hendriks and Vahle. “They are negotiating with Ziggo. I think they are going to Ziggo, both of them,” said Woerts. Talpa boss John de Mol could lose two important forces in one fell swoop.

According to Woerts, a possible switch will have consequences for all parties. “Ziggo no longer allows Hélène and Noa to participate in matches at Talpa, but that is no longer allowed. They may still participate in talk shows, but not competitions.” In that case, Hendriks and Vahle can still appear Today Insidewhere they are regular guests.

Shift

Ziggo will cause a significant seismic shift in the Dutch football landscape next season. From next season, matches in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League will not be available to everyone on regular television. In November last year it was announced that Ziggo, which acquired the rights for all European club tournaments, would continue with its plans for the broadcasts.

Broadcasts of matches of Dutch clubs that play in a European context are on the so-called 'event list'. The Media Act prescribes that such duels must be shown free of charge to the widest possible audience. Ziggo will therefore broadcast the Dutch clubs on a TV channel that will be free for its own customers. Ziggo is making its app available to people who are not customers, on which the matches will also be available for free.

Ziggo will pay approximately 25 million euros for the TV rights, Woerts previously reported Today Inside. The sports marketer handles the football rights negotiations on behalf of Talpa and is therefore well versed in this field. Viaplay will soon have space at SBS9 to offer sports content.

Until the summer of 2024, Champions League football can be seen on the open network on RTL 7, while Ziggo is currently the holder of the so-called B package of that tournament. The Europa League and Conference League will continue to be shown on Veronica, part of Talpa, until mid-2024. ESPN has the B package for the two smaller tournaments. From July 1, 2024, Ziggo will have both the A and B packages of all tournaments for a period of three seasons.
