Latest update:

Jordan Henderson deliberately did not participate in a farewell video for Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher reveals in The Overlap. The former top defender noticed that the 33-year-old Ajax midfielder 'is not himself' when he approached him for the video item on behalf of Sky Sports.

The English medium used analyst Carragher to gather as many players as possible to record a video message for Klopp. Henderson, who worked with the retiring manager at Liverpool for many years, has thanked his participation in that video item.

Virgil van Dijk, Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah, among others, did appear in the special video for Klopp, but Henderson was missing. Carragher wants to make it clear that he has in any case approached the English veteran.

“I spoke to Jordan two or three weeks ago via WhatsApp, because of a video item I made for Klopp on behalf of Sky Sports,” said Carragher. “People noticed that Jordan wasn't in the video. I noticed that Jordan was not himself and I got the feeling that he did not want to talk to the press.”

Carragher understands that Henderson is disappointed with his start at Ajax. “I don't know how he played and I only saw the results. I only know that it has not been a good season for Ajax and that is why they brought him in.” Henderson has not yet managed to make any progress in Amsterdam and has not been in the spotlight with the national team before the European Championship.

Also Hans Kraay junior, presenter of ESPN, is discussed. “I remember an interview in which a Dutch man came down hard on him. I then decided not to push Henderson too much to do an interview,” Carragher concludes the topic.

Henderson did respond to Klopp's departure from Liverpool via Instagram. “Thank you for everything Boss,” said the 81-time international. Henderson was Klopp's regular captain when Liverpool won the Champions League in 2019.
